halt ur ignorance

working life definitely changes a person.
even though i am just filling in for a part-time position.
i learn and see different things everyday.
some succeed to stay in the warmest spot, some will make any beings wince in disgust.

a doctor (experienced lookalike with old hair, huge specs and stuff) prescribed Xanax/alprazolam, controlled medicine meant for anxiety disorder, he wants it for travel sickness -_- so that he can doze off peacefully throughout the whole journey.
it certainly makes u wonder, if a patient complains of a headache, imagine what he will prescribe.

a father came in today.
asking for antifungal for his 15yo kid undergoing chemotherapy
(which means kiddo has cancer, u fool)
it sets u thinking, what was i doing when i was 15yo.
i didnt even know what is 'pubic hair' back then, alright

a mother came in earlier this morning.
asking medicines for her 23yo boy who met terrible accident that left him paralyze, possibly for the lifetime.
again, 23yo, an age with thousands of dreams waiting..a greedy age
shattered in one day. prolly setting him to rethink n rearrange his life again. prolly, not daring to dream any higher.
23 yo becomes an age of gratitude, for just being alive.

stuff like this definitely give my mind some thinking exercise.
this is the time when i wish human can play "God" for once. coming up with drugs or any solution to save these lives, saving dreams.

p/s:am not breaking ethical in my practice by exposing above details for no names were mentioned, neither did i mentioned specific details.

when i was working at a part-time nurse, it broke my heart to see so many sad cases too... u know, a lot of them, not only patients coming in n asking for xanax or depam.

i remember there's this old uncle in his 70s. he came in one day bcoz he was feeling unwell n 2 days later, we saw his picture in the orbituary section. it so happened that when he went out of the clinic, a car ran into him. no, he didnt die because of the accident but he died because he was hallucinating things after the accident.

how sad...

despite all those, i did come across some unpleasant patients too. argh, i still dont like them till this very day.

take care!

Dear JUAN,
yes. we will sing Tension's songs this coming Sat. provided my sore throat cures by that time.
about ur mom. age certainly can defy anyone. glucosamine sulfate is definitely best choice but that not for suppressing pain which she is enduring now. prolly she needs a short-period of pain killer. Glucosamine is for long term..

Dear FuFu,
being a waiter faces challenges almost everyday. it is a job that i cant imagine myself in...
bread factory, huh?!? take will be interesting..

Dear Fallen Angel,
ppl take nurses for granted at times. no matter wad, it is a nurse job to lay as down as possible. my sis is venturing into nurse.

it seems to me that u're right that ppl often takes nurses for granted. so, whatever blames, they'll put on nurses instead of themselves.

nursing is a good field to go into actually. me mum has been a nurse all her life n u know, she's been 'booked' by some private hospitals after the retires from government sector.

ur sister has made a good choice!

yeah. but i see a lot of fuck-up nurses when i was attached to hosp. throwing tantrums in front of sicko patients...

my sister will make a good choice if the patients love her... ;)
